Frequently Asked Questions

Which areas do you cover?

We routinely cover the West Midlands, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, and Warwickshire, but will travel anywhere. We have covered weddings in Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire, Buckinghamshire, Avon, Cheshire and as far afield as France.  Distances further than 25 miles from Stourbridge, will incur an additional mileage charge, plus expenses (ie accommodation where necessary) at reasonable cost.

Will we meet our photographer before the wedding?

We would always advise you to meet your photographer to build a rapport and make sure you are relaxed and look fantastic on the big day.  Of course, Heather will come and meet you at home, and in addition, for those booking the Cheltenham and Warwick collections, she will arrange to meet you at the venues, also offering a complimentary shoot, which is a great excuse to take some fun, informal photos and is an invaluable ice-breaker!

How much time do I need to allow for photographs?

As a general guide, allow at least 3 hours from ceremony time to sit down.  More may be advisable depending on number of venues, travelling time etc.  We will be happy to discuss this with you, but our advice is always to make sure you have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the day.

How long do you stay?

Normally we stay until just before you eat, finishing with a mock cutting of the cake, but some of the top packages include coverage of the speeches and the first dance (please refer to price guide).

Can you go to a second photographic location?

Yes. There is no extra charge for a second location.

Is there a second photographer?

The Cheltenham and Warwick collections include a 2nd photographer which enables us to get a full coverage of the day, from the relaxed informal shots to the slightly more formal group photos, shooting from two different viewpoints (both literally and from a  male/female point of view!) – you will see photos of things you didn’t know had happened!

Do you do ‘Reportage’ style?

Yes, the Cheltenham and Warwick collections include reportage photography.  We have developed our own unique style incorporating ideas from many areas of photography, which combine together to create a fabulous storybook album that evokes the fun and emotion of the day.

How do I book?

We usually arrange to come out and meet you, bringing sample albums and to have an informal chat about your ideas and plans.  Once you have decided to book, a non-returnable deposit of £150 is required to secure the date.  The balance is due 1 calendar month prior to the wedding date.

Will you boss people around on our wedding day?

We do not believe in spoiling your special day by playing “Sergeant Major” – we treat the photography as part of the fun and enjoyment of the day.  We know that people always look better on their photos if they are relaxed and having fun, so we do everything possible to ensure that happens.  We genuinely enjoy what we do, and it shows.

Will our families and friends be able to buy photos afterwards?

Of course.  All photos will be available online (password protected if preferred) both to view and to buy – particularly useful for those friends and family that live a long way away.  They can also be ordered by the more traditional order form – a reward system exists for those couples who collect in all the orders this way, whereby they can earn free prints for themselves.

Will we have any help choosing photos for the storybook albums?

As we have plenty of experience in the designing of storybook albums, we offer to spend a couple of hours with you, helping you to make your choices.  We find that if couples are left to their own devices, they find it difficult to know where to begin, often not coming back with their order for a long time, and we always prefer our couples to have their album as soon after the wedding as possible.

How soon will I have my album?

We generally aim to have proofs with the couple soon after they return from honeymoon (or 3-4 weeks after the wedding at the latest), and a storybook album will be ready approximately 6-8 weeks after the selections have been made.  All couples should have their album by 3 months after the wedding unless their have been unusual hold ups for any reason.

What happens in the case of technical problems?

We always carry backup equipment, all pictures are fully archived, and we also have comprehensive insurance.

What if we have more questions?

We are here to listen and advise, so please tap into our wealth of experience.
